A customer of mine came to me recently with an idea for a website. He's an engineer and said that we should work together on a website that provides senior projects for college students from businesses. His reasoning was that a good percentage of college studets who do senior projects may not have a variety of quality projects to choose from.
He envisioned a site where businesses could post projects and students from around the country (or world for that matter) could view them. He also mentioned that research and development, which is typical of senior projects in the engineering field, gets cut when businesses have to cut costs. Businesses who never before considered using college undergraduates and graduates on such projects could now have a place to get free, or relatively inexpensive help. Students can also post bios of themselves for businesses to see. While not meant as a real recruiting tool, businesses who are looking for talented students in specific fields to work on a project, can now find them.
